More Than a Conqueror was born out of lived experience.
Our founder, Myesha Thompson, grew up on the South Side of Chicago facing poverty, abandonment, and the weight of generational cycles. At just 15, she became a mother and was outcasted by her church community. Rather than allowing these circumstances to define her, Myesha used her intellectual gifts, faith, and resilience as the foundation to build a new future.
Her journey was not easy, marked by loss, depression, and discrimination but each challenge became a lesson. Through perseverance, she earned multiple degrees, certifications, and licenses; built her first home by 26; and soon after purchased her first investment property. These milestones were more than personal wins; they were proof that generational cycles can be broken.
In 2024, after a pivotal moment working in government, Myesha chose to bet on herself fully and pour into her community. She founded More Than a Conqueror to share the blueprint she created through lived trials: blending financial education, life skills, housing stability, and healing as pathways to long-term self-sufficiency and generational wealth.
Today, More Than a Conqueror exists to empower individuals and families to transform pain into power, fear into faith, and resilience into prosperity. We meet people where they are, whether struggling to stabilize housing, working to repair credit, or preparing for homeownership and walk with them toward a future where every family has the tools to thrive.
